Million Step Club

First, my sugar stuff...I ate a Jordan almond, and not a second one, which was good. We had a luncheon today at work, so I was holding off on eating, but I was STARVING. I ate one chocolate, and then had another one. One thing I noticed (not for the first time) is that, because I eat so quickly, I normally eat twice...once like a snake, and then again to savor it. It'd be nice if I could teach myself to skip that first step!

Husband and I both joined the "Million Step Club" at my job. You could put a deposit in for the pedometer if you didn't have one, and you record your steps on a log. If you get a million by October, you'll get a sweatshirt. I don't care about the sweatshirt AT ALL, but it's a cool idea. Yesterday, I started late, because husband went to pick up my packet and so I got the pedometer late. I only got 5119 steps yesterday.

Today, though, there was a ton of walking. I'm not done yet, but I've got almost 14,000. Should be pretty cool.

    That sounds really fun! I love my Fitbit and how it counts my steps/mileage, etc and I love to try to beat my previous steps each day. Good luck, you can do it!

    I love pedometers! lately I haven't been getting so many steps on mine but I wear it EVERYWHERE! My goal is 10k a day but I really have to push hard to get there, even with a workout sometimes I'm a few hundred steps behind!

Good tip on savoring food. I noticed the same, when eating fast, I eat more.

    Brenda, the idea is so cool. And 14,000 is a terrific start! You will have it, no problem!

I looked it up. From today until 10/1/13 is 180 days. If you divide 1M by that, you have to walk an average of 5,555 per day. That's not too bad at all. The sweatshirt will be yours!!!

    I think that is a cool idea too. I wear a fitbit and my goal is to walk at least 10000 a day. I have made it all week. But have had to incorporate walking to and from church on some days. So i'll have to figure out how many days it would take to make 1,000,000.
