I am really feeling excited about the results I've been seeing lately.
My clothes are getting loose! I'm currently wearing jeans I haven't fit into for years, and the spring coat I bought two sizes too small now fits perfectly! (It didn't even button when I bought it!)
My heart rate is rebounding much faster.
I am really pushing myself to run faster than ever before. The first time I did couch to 5k I did all the running outside. This time around, I'm doing it on a treadmill so that I can monitor my heart rate and also make sure that my speed is consistent. When I began running (in July of 2009) my pace was about 15:30/ mile. I eventually got that down as low as 14:13/ mile average over the course of a 5k, with my fastest mile ever being about 13 minutes. Two days ago, I maintained a pace of 12 minutes per mile for 20 minutes unbroken. Today, I completed c25k w6d1 (run 5 min, walk 3, run 8, walk 3, run 5) with my runs at a 5.2 and my walks at 3.5. That's definitely the fastest I've ever gone!
I'm noticing muscles and definition in places I never knew I had them! My calves and thighs are amazing. And my arms are pretty dam incredible as well! Now I just need to start working on my core. My abdomen has been through a lot this past year, and it's definitely possible that I'm still a bit swollen from surgery, but it's time to focus on strengthening and tightening things up!
All of these little things really help to keep me motivated. I'm also really loving this diet bet. I think I'll sign up for another one once this one is over!
