Well I have been slacking with my TacFit. I just am tired between work and class late at night. I don't manage my time well, so I am going to be hitting the gym for my 20 minute workouts with TacFit after work from now on. I am starting Insanity as soon as it arrives this week.
I am noticing improvements though with general overall fitness. Fireman carried a guy who is about 55-60 lbs heavier than me. We did a 100 yd dash with them on our shoulders. I carried him about 75 yds before I got a HUGE cramp in my calf, so switched to piggyback then ran with him on my back. Then he fireman carried me back. We also do sprints, high knees, lateral running, backwards running, burpees, high knees, planks, pushups, jumping in place, jumping jacks, Supermans, more burpees ... well we basically do ALL bodyweight workouts, which I LOVE!
I do and DON'T miss weights. It's a love/hate relationship!
BUT that being said ... since my workouts outside of Fire Academy have been stagnant minus loading the trucks I load at FedEx Trucks 5 days a week ... I haven't declined in my fitness at all. I DO WANT TO IMPROVE though.
I have a goal that I haven't announced yet. It would happen this August. So stay Tuned for it and to see if it happens. I hope it does. But I also am working towards doing a stairclimb in September with full bunker gear (PPE) and SCBA on. Yes Yes Yes! Oh I cannot wait for all this!
But anywho in the meantime, I am going to be doing Insanity, once it gets here! Excited to see where I will end up with my final results ... really HOPE that it helps with my overall strength, endurance and power, and agility. We will see won't we!
