Almost 5 days Wheat/Sugar free!!

Day 5 of my wheat-free/sugar-free trial is almost finished. Tonight’s supper will consist of rock bass with a light coating of rice cracker crumbs and parmesan cheese, sautéed (note I did not say ‘fried’!) in a scant amount of vegetable oil and butter. Sweet potatoes and broccoli will accompany said fish followed by the appropriate amount of muskmelon sprinkled with a little cinnamon. Enough of the food descriptors.
I was at the gym today for 2 hours of socializing (and exercising!)….cardio, strength, core work and stretching. I do believe I am a little more energetic…cleaned a cupboard this afternoon and rearranged the papers on my desk!! Perhaps will even try a tune on the piano after dinner.
Maybe it is just because my mind seems to be in a good place right now, but the cravings are manageable as long as I keep the body fed (lots of protein and fibre) and watered every few hours. Tomorrow will be a challenge as we are going to be away most of the day, but I will take snacks and get a good rest tonight.
I realize this is not a breath-taking, exciting, sit-on-the-edge of your chair blog, but it is simply meant to be a chronicle of how I am dealing with this challenge. I can look back on it in 30 days and take stock of my progress.
Hope everyone is having a good day…..I am off to play with my fish and veggies!!
P.S. The fish was delicious….did not miss the flour at all…if anything, it tasted better!!
