I first want to thank all my Spark Friends for all the goodies and good wishes for my birthday:) I want to share how special this birthday weekend has been.
I started my celebration on Easter Sunday with my two sons, they drove to my sisters house, half way for everyone and we were suppose to get together for Easter dinner, but they decided to celebrate my birthday early!!! So this was special!
Today I was off from work and I had lunch with my DH and then I went to see my mom at the nursing home. So I got to spend my birthday with mom. It was so much fun trying to explain who I was, she would call me her mom and she was the daughter!! We laughed so hard because I kept repeating "No you are mom". I think she finally understood because she sang "Happy Birthday" all by herself. She did get sad because she couldn't see me (she is blind, due to stroke etc) but she touched me and we had a great time.
I don't even care that she called me mom!!! I took pictures and she laughed, she hugged me and we were together!!! So this meant more to me than anything else.
Of course I also got calls from my boys today and my brothers and sister send me messages!!
Thanks to everyone for making my day so special!!!!!
That sounds like a very special time on your birthday so I'm so happy for you! I'm glad that we could help out as your SparkFriends by celebrating it virtually with you! Thank you for the thank you goodie. It was appreciated greatly! Keep up the awesome work! 1208 days ago
How wonderful! A great birthday. You know sometimes stroke victims KNOW what they want to say (such as "daughter") but it comes out all wrong ("mom"). I saw a play demonstrating this once. Must be frustrating for them. My father-in-law called me "Chester," his brother's name. I figured he knew I had a name that sounded like a man's name. :) 1209 days ago
