Spanx/Shapewear Forever?

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

I love Spanx. Seriously. Theyíre amazing. When I worked for Lane Bryant some years ago, I got them ALL OF THE TIME. In fact, theyíre so good, I still have a couple of pairs!

Iím sure Iíve mentioned my belly here on Spark before, in fact, my belly gets on my dang nerves. Itís not as bad as it used to be, but good Lord Iím sick of it. Thereís loose skin and remainder fat from being 285 that is going to take me forever to get off. As much as it gets on my nerves, it reminds me of how far Iíve come and what my body used to look like. Now, because it has settled to itís current state, it doesnít look very nice in my form fitting clothes that Iím trying to embrace. So you know what I do? I throw on a pair of Spanx (or my cheap brand from Kmart, etc they work just as well!). This is all well and fine, but am I seriously going to have to do this EVERYDAY of my life?

I guess I better start investing then right?

No use complaining. Might as well keep trying to work on my belly and rock those Spanx!

I haven't tried Spanxs yet, but have heard great reviews. I think I need to invest in some. I just don't want to feel squeezed into it.

Everyone's bodies are different, but to be honest, I've got a bunch of loose belly skin that I don't think will ever go away. I even had it when I was waaaaay underweight last summer. Now, plenty of people's skin bounces back eventually, but mine didn't, and I just tell myself that it's like a different kind of battle scar - it shows how badass I am, to have lost so much weight that I now have this visible proof of how much work I put into my own health. So anyways, you could very well find that your belly skin shrinks down, but you should still be prepared for the possibility that you might bear this battle scar for the long haul. And it ain't that bad, really! As you say, Spanx works wonders. :) And I'd rather have my loose belly flop (even though it kind of looks like a beer belly) than be back at 244 pounds. A little loose skin is better than tight skin stretched over inches and inches of fat! :)

They really do create such a nice, sleek, smooth look, don't they? Good for you! Back in my mother's day, they had the "Playtex Living Girdle," which was a rubbery, heavy, oppressive garment of not-so-sheer torture! We've come a lo-o-ong way, thank goodness! emoticon

I guess that I should check them out. Gotta look sleek in the clothes, right? LOL!
