Spark Peeps' Encouragement ROCKS!!

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

I just want to say that I am so grateful to the wonderful, caring people who share of themselves on Spark. All of you who left comments here--your encouragement ROCKS! Everything you all said was so on target. I haven't achieved the 8 cups of water per day yet, but I AM up to SIX cups, and I have to say, what a difference it already makes! For one thing--and this is a biggie--I feel much fuller throughout the day. And just as importantly, I lost half a pound right away. Can't knock that, right?? Sadly, a bit of a setback came on over the Easter weekend, what with my family around for the special meals and then, the very next day, we lost our 19 yr companion, a Ragdoll cat. So of course the end of that day saw us comforting ourselves around a meal in a restaurant. But I recognize that these are not typical events and, as of today, I got myself back on track.
And now I'm digressing, when all I really meant to say was, THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE. emoticon

The Spark community is very caring and you are a part of it. I want to tell you a little story from a guy Morrie who was dying. A little wave was just bobbing along on the ocean, being very merry until he saw waves crashing on the shore. He became very agitated and sad. A big wave saw this and asked the little wave why the change of attitude. The little wave cried "we are all going to die!" the big wave said: "you are so very wrong. Don't you see that you are part of this big ocean?" so it is with all of us here on Spark. Already you can motivate and inspire someone else!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your cat. They really do become members of the family. Our two cats tend to be my constant companions since I work at home. Understandable that you would comfort yourselves around a meal. But you got yourself back on track and that is the important thing. Glad you are doing better with the water and congrats on the .5 lb!
