So I went swimming today, which I stink at. I mean, really, really bad. There are 6 lanes, divided into 2 fast, 2 medium and 2 slow. I'm such a dork in the pool however that I think they should rename one the 'clueless' lane. First, I crawl, then, because I haven't mastered the art of breathing yet, I role onto my back and backstroke. Then I get tired and turn over and swim under water, but of course there is the breathing problem. THEN, I reach the other side and hey, I've completed a lap! After a couple of laps like this the other guy in my slow lane moved over into the medium lane. Yes folks, I cleared a lane.
I went, I swam 20 laps, I left. It wasn't so terrible, in fact I might even go back. I'm only slightly embarrassed but I'm trying not to worry about it and I'm holding out hope that I'll improve with time.
Is there an activity you persist in that you feel you're not very good at, but you do it anyway?
