Finding JOY in each Day!

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

So on the drive to work this morning I was contemplating the fact that "I LOVE TO WRITE", but have not done so in a long time.

I thought about finding a place to "write my thoughts" and pondered if it should be a PRIVATE PLACE NO ONE CAN SEE...or if I should just BLOG on my sparks page.

When I got to work a friend (thanks Mary) had posted about another friend of hers who had worked on this "Thanksgiving Project". Finding joy or positive things to write each day.

My thoughts said "I AGREE". Although life is hard and sometimes things are difficult, all around are wonderful blessings. Sometimes we are so in the dark we can't SEE those blessings. My hope is that: by writing things I am thankful for...that when the darkness seems to surround me, I will be able to "LOOK BACK" over my list of BLESSINGS and somehow find the SUNSHINE in them.

So for TODAY - the blessing I post is about FRIENDS. Friends that stand beside me who walk me through the HARD THINGS IN LIFE...but also Friends that I have found ON LINE through sparks.

When I struggled with the hospital and over coming all that went wrong...the friends from sparks stepped up and helped me feel loved...and prayed for. The oodles of cards and gifts mailed. The messages of hope and strength they sent through Goodies, spark mail, texts, email. IT was OVERWHELMINGLY WONDERFUL!

I am truly grateful for the wonderful people the Lord has brought me in my life.

Your blog reminded me of something Pope Francis said at the Palm Sunday Mass. He said "A Christian can never be sad. Never give way to discouragement. We are never alone...even at difficult moments when our life's journey comes up against problems and obstacles that seem insurmountable, and there are so many of them. Jesus takes upon Himself the evil, the filth, the sin of the world including our own sin. He cleanses it with his blood, with the mercy and the love of God."

I need to post these words somewhere. Thank YOU for reminding me of them!

Steph, I'm glad we reconnected this BLC! You bring a lot of joy to the thread!

I like the idea of a "Thanksgiving Project." Gives me a thought about what I can get members of my church group to do on a daily basis. Thanks.

Thank you for reminding me to count my Blessings. This is so important. It seems as though it is much easier or more common to focus on the darkness around us.

I too love writing and have been trying to get back into the swing of things again with blogging. I'm thinking you have inspired me to take the plunge. emoticon emoticon
