Why now?

I should have started to lose weight a while ago, but just never gave it a real shot. It's hard to be serious about losing weight when you drink more then 2 16 oz bottles a soda just at work each day and go to McDonald's 2 to 3 times a week.. I ate horrible here at work...

So why now?

Last Wednesday we had training at the firehouse, we were doing bailouts, which basically is a quick way to escape a fire out of a window when you have no other choice.. you are tying securing a line to something in the room and bailing out head first out the window. When it was my turn they used a different harness then we have in the past times i have done it, the guys who hooked up my harness were from the other company and not mine. They made a comment as they were trying to get the safety harness on me "what are they feeding you guys down there in company 1??" At the time I didn't even think about the comment I was too nervous bailing out of the simulated house, but the next day I woke up and it bothered me a lot.. I had to go cover at our sister dealership the next morning so I was playing around with the computer there and I found a link to this site so I figured what the heck might as well give it a try...

I started thinking about the way I eat and the way I want my life to be. I wanted to start to look better and feel better about myself, and I wanted to be healthy for my 2 sons....We are planning a cruise this December and I want to be able to take off my shirt at the beach without thinking about how bad I look. I think with this site and the tools here I can achieve my goals....

So i started out at 230 lbs my goal is going to be 190. As I write this I am down 1.2 lbs... that is with just trying to eat better, drinking water and walking during lunch. I know it's not a lot but it is a start. I am trying to chance those bad habits I had. So far I have brought food from home every day for lunch and I have not been to McDonald's and I have not had any soda at work. Next week I am going to start to go to the gym and hopefully that will work out good with me meeting my goals.
