A Time to Pause......

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

A friend of mine has been involved in a daily challenge called the Thanksgiving Project. Every day she blogs about something she is Thankful for. I have become addicted to her thoughts and smile as soon as I get my notification she posted. They vary as the day. Sometimes they are little gratuities life has to offer. Sometimes they are more in depth with people or memories she loves and cherishes.

Yes...I have enjoyed the concept......for LIFE is Grand. Not getting political here, but just making an observation........Life can be hard. It seems like there are two groups in this country and we are most definitely divided. I may or may not like the circumstances at the moment....but I DO LOVE LIFE.

I read my friend's entry yesterday how she was so thankful for her outdoor grill and had the best hamburger in the world that night Then....today.....I read other posts by teammates.......and I ......realized......we ALL need to take my friend's approach and be THANKFUL for the good in our lives as opposed to the pain and misery we seem to be too willing to share.

SO.......I have decided to join my friend's approach to be THANKFUL...no matter how hard it may be on some days.

My daily reflections will be called A TIME TO PAUSE.....which gives time to reflect and realize just how precious my day actually is.

SO...

my first TIME TO PAUSE.......is for my friend Pamela for sharing her Thanksgiving Project. She has never missed a day.......she hasn't quit being thankful every single day for something in her day....her life. I am Thankful......for my friend.....her project.....her friendship.

Years back I use to write 3 things I'm grateful for in a daily journal. Now I just say them outloud to put positive energy outward. Though its nice to reread that time in my life. Might just start doing it again. Thanx for the incentive. Yes, your friend's daily blog is priceless!!! emoticon

Yes, we must always remember to be thankful...because we truly have so much to be thankful for that we take for granite each day.

Thx for sharing Mary.......... you are so right about taking time to be grateful for what we have every day, even on the days when it feels like a bucket load of BS has been thrown your way, you can still be grateful for all the other blessings in your life.
hugs

My DH once said to me.....you make my world so much bigger then before I met you!
So like Alice said here....about being different yet alike with Mary....
Adding someone into your life just makes your world so much bigger....

DH said that he had always loved nature and outdoors....but that being with me brought him to see things he had never seen before~~because as much as we were alike in so many ways~~We looked at things differently and from different angles....
So...where he saw the Scottish hills .....I saw Scottish hills dotted with white sheep.
He told me that even though he knew the sheep were there that he had never really seen them till he looked at those hills with me!

And it works both ways for us~~DH has opened doors to me that never would have been possible had I not met him.

I am thankful that I met my Alex. I love him very much. Every day is a new day with him by my side!

I an thankful today for my very dear friend in MI who I can talk with openly and laugh with. She makes me enjoy life and look forward to everyday. She brings out the positive in everything. We do think a lot alike, but differently. She makes my life complete.

Love ya

Amazing to read this today. My DDa texts me in the morning and today was one of those days when she just had things happening to and around her. Someone barreled into her on the sidewalk then berated her for being in his path (followed by spitting at someone else who defended her). Someone near her on the bus had a bladder control issue. And my thought at that moment was to recommend a thankfulness or gratefulness journal -- to get her to look around for what was GOOD in the world around her rather than to get sucked down by the ugly and the bad.

May you find many things to be thankful for and feel blessed each day you take your TIME TO PAUSE!

Thanks my friend. I am still working on not complaining. But we all have SOMETHING to be thankful for every single day. In fact, we have lots to be thankful for no matter how bad things may seem.
