I haven't blogged in a looong time. Over a year to be exact.
I needed to find my way, try new things and find my focus. I was tired of being heavy and tired of being tired but all I was doing was maintaining. I was stuck at 175ish lbs. It just wasn't going anywhere!
So around Christmas I had some time off and started looking really hard at me. It's funny when you start to look inside everything seems to fall into place. All this good information and energy from others fell into my lap. Guess what? I was READY for it!
I took a calender and ripped the first three months out and taped them to my bathroom door. I needed to see these three months everyday right in front of me. What was great was that my BF didn't blink. I didn't explain myself, he didn't ask and it didn't matter. I lost my fear of being judged (at least by him...lol).
I didn't write down my start weight on the calender because I was disgusted with it and myself. I did however enter it here, 180 lbs on Boxing Day. But by the first Thursday of the New Year I was down 2 lbs! That's not much but it was a start. I wrote my weight that day on the calender and every Thursday after that. Everyday I entered in what I did no matter what. Sometimes it was a walk or a run (which in reality was more of a shuffle to start), bike at the gym, shoveling snow even.
I took days off here and there too. I made a big black X across those days just so they would stand out. To make sure I didn't take too many. For some extra motivation I made a thermometer for each month. Kind of like the ones they use for fundraising. So for every hour I exercised I got to fill in a line. In February I got 28 hours in! March was just as good with 30 hours. I like filling in that thing, it's a good way to see just how hard I worked.
I still used SP to track my food for almost everything and entered in all my exercise. It does the math for me. Did I do enough to be eating what I am or should I cut back on what I'm eating or exercise more. It works.
Overall I'm down 18 lbs!!!! Whoo Hooo!!
So yesterday I went and bought a piece of Bristol board and took that old calender down, taped it on it. Flipped it over and taped the next three months on it. The Bristol board is a beautiful bright yellow and you sure can't miss it taped to my bathroom door!
I started this month at 162 lbs. The lowest I've been in over 4 years! I want to do my best to keep blogging often. Another way to keep accountable? Also to see where these next 3 months can take me.
