Day 2

Wednesday, April 03, 2013

I made it through the first day back on the wagon, although the transition wasn't as smooth as I had hoped. On the good side, I stayed within my calorie range and got in 12 cups of water. On the bad side, I skipped breakfast (bad I know), didn't get any exercise in and could have made a little bit better choices on my snacks. But at least I'm making progress so I'm not going to beat myself up.

Today I have a plan. Kashi GoLean cereal for breakfast, yogurt for morning snack, Weight Watchers Smart One for lunch, almonds for afternoon snack, baked tilapia with a side of artichoke hearts for supper and Italian Ice for dessert. I know I need to get more fruits and veggies in, but for now I'm limited because I can't go grocery shopping until Sunday.

As for exercise, I'm going walking today. Our local park has a 0.4 mile walking track that goes around the playground so I'm going to let my daughter play while I walk. My goal is to get a mile in. I'm not going for speed, just distance. The important thing is that I get moving.

Smooth or not YOU made it through the day. That was yesterday and today is a new start. Your plan for today sounds great. When you are strapped for time when trying to exercise try dancing in the kitchen while making dinner or during a commercial on TV stand up and march in place. I found this to help me when I just can't get motivated to move. I like the walking idea around the playground....both you and your daughter can have some fun. As far a veggies go when it's the last week of the month and things are sparce in the cupboard I always have a couple of cans (not my go to veggies) on the shelf like green beans or corn I make do with those. Best of luck to you on your new beginning on this journey to a healthier lifestyle. YOU can do this....ONE day at a time. Small steps = success. emoticon
