Day #467: April Goals Update

Hey everyone, I just thought I would give everyone an update on how my April goals are going. So far they are going pretty well, I have worked out 2 days this week. My goal for every week is to work out for three days, but of course working out more than that would be awesome. Today I think I am going to do a zumba workout on my wii rather than going to the gym that way I am working some different muscles, and doing something different so that I do not get bored. So far I also havenít had any fried food which is something that I am very proud of! It is so hard for me, and each morning I struggle when I go to rapids to not grab a doughnut and 2 hash browns, but this is the third day I have gone without getting them. Today I woke up early enough to go into our main cafeteria and eat breakfast so that I wouldnít indulge, and they actually had seasoned potato cuts. I know, they still arenít good for you, but at least it wasnít a greasy old hash brown. I am going to take this one step at a time. One goal that I have altered is my self- love goal. Originally it was for me to wake up every morning at like7:15 am but for a college student, especially me that isnít very realistic. Therefore, I have altered that goal to get 8 hours of sleep a night! I think that is a pretty solid goal, and one that is much more attainable for me.

School is starting to get very hectic again. I am trying to decide between staying an RA next semester, and moving into an apartment with one of my friends. Itís a very tough decision, and I honestly do not know what I am going to do yet. I am going to talk to my mother today though to get her opinion on the matter. I would be able to take more credits a semester if I wasnít an RA, but if I was an RA again it would look good on my resume. I am very indecisive. The three big things I have going on this week regarding school include scheduling classes for the fall (and possibly for the summer), doing a mock interview for my Professions in Agriculture class, and I have a test on Friday in Biology that I am really hoping to get a B on. I just hope that with everything I have going on in my life I can stay on track with the healthy life as well. I will also post what I have been eating, it hasnít exactly been good since I still have candy from Easter, but when that is all gone, it will be better.

Lunch:
Soft Pretzel
Tossed Salad w/ranch
16oz Fuze Sweet Tea

Dinner:
Tossed Salad w/ranchw/cheese
1 slice cheese pizza
Blueberry yogurt parfait
1 glass fruit punch

Snack:
3 marshmallow peeps
milk duds
Popcorn

Workout:
30 minutes on stationary bike
20 minutes on stair master

April 2, 2013
Breakfast:
Mixed Berry Yogurt
Green Apple
Chocolate Milk

Lunch:
Spaghetti w/ marinara
Garlic Bread
Water

Dinner:
Peanut Butter and Jelly on White
Soft Pretzel w/mustard
Tossed Salad w/ ranch
16oz Lemondae

Snack:
Milk Duds
Part of chocolate Easter Bunny
2 Marshmallow Peep

Workout:
30 minutes on Stationary Bike

I am not doing perfect at all yet, but in my making progress and doing better than I was before. It is going to be a long process for me I have a feeling, but cutting out soda, and fried foods this month is going to help a lot. I think next month one of my goals might be to cut out sweets. However, I usually do not have a problem with sweets the reason I am eating so much of them right now is because the Easter Bunny brought them and so I have them around. Oh well, I am going to try and pace myself with eating it and not overindulge too much.

    Hi Emma,

I think you are doing awesome!! Being "perfect" is so relative, I wouldn't even think of any of this in those terms. Eliminating fried foods and soda is huge! If the candy bothers you being there just give it away. Also if your parents are the "Easter Bunny", lol, you can always ask that when they give you are packages to send something healthy to keep you on track. Just a thought. Overall you should feel very proud college is a hard time and you are doing great!
As for the RA thing I would say that it's great that you looking into the future but you should focus more on the now. Meaning if it is too stressful on you than it's not the right thing for you. There are always other things you can put on a resume, even volunteer work! Just something to think about. emoticon
