Red Rubber Ball

Continuing the rainbow - Red Rubber Ball by The Cyrkle 1966 (written by Paul Simon & Bruce Woodley)

I should have known you'd bid me farewell
There's a lesson to be learned from this and I learned it very well
Now, I know you're not the only starfish in the sea
If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

You never care for secrets I confide
For you, I'm just an ornament, somethin' for your pride
Always runnin', never carin', that's the life you live
Stolen minutes of your time were all you had to give

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

The story's in the past with nothin' to recall
I've got my life to live and I don't need you at all
The roller-coaster ride we took is nearly at an end
I bought my ticket with my tears, that's all I'm gonna spend

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

Oh, I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

Sounds like you are having a break up with someone special? If so, I am sorry and I agree - music is a wonderful way to sooth and inspire ourselves. emoticon Chelsea

I loved that song when it came out. Back then I had a regular record player (way before cassettes and cds and ipods LOL)! and in a magazine was a copy of this song on a type of material that could be played on the record player. Some kind of treated cardboard or something if I recall. I played it a lot! Those were the days of 45's ha ha.

Oh thank you! I absolutely love it!!!
That song has been hard to find for so many years,
and so few people know about it.
