Yesterday, I wrote of my concerns on going to work after the Easter weekend and all the food that would be waiting, the leftovers from family gatherings and all the candy.

All in all, yesterday went pretty well. I am glad that I went in to work armed with a plan because as soon as I walked in the door at 7:45 a.m. the first things I saw were a bag of barbecue potato chips and a bag of jelly beans.

By 8: 20, the jalapeno sausage and crackers and more jelly beans showed up.

At 9:00, I had some sausage (come on, it was jalapeno!!) and crackers. I could have easily eaten the whole plate (that was definitely some awesome sausage!) so I got out the sliced cucumbers from my lunch bag.

At 9:30 , the bakery cake appeared but I was still working on the cucumbers.

At 10:15, the bagels and cream cheese appeared along the back windowsill.

At 10:45, someone took care of the cake being cut and served and it actually smelled pretty good but my lunch salad was waiting.

After lunch, I was thinking about the bagels but I had to leave the office for a while and when I came back, they were already put away for the day.
I did have some of the chips (not many, they weren't that great) and a few more sausage and crackers.  The cake? I succumbed in the last hour of the day but after sampling a little bit of it, the cake now looks absolutely disgusting to me (there's more waiting for today!) it was way too sweet and I ended the work day with this really unpleasant aftertaste in my my mouth.  I think because I prepared in advance and knew what all that sugar would do to my day I was able to keep the cake in its proper place (on the plate, not in my mouth.)

If my energy level last evening is any indicator, I think I did a pretty good job yesterday while I was at work. If you stopped in during the day, know how much I appreciated it. It was fun to know that my SP friends were lending support and it definitely meant a lot to me!
I'm going to give myself a "B" for the day. Day 2 is on the way!! I know that there's going to be more stuff appearing today but now that I have Day 1 completed, I'm up to the challenge!

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense."
