I had planned for this to be a month of complete butt-kickery, and it was until my eating choices while on an unplanned vacation derailed me. I'm up a few pounds but the whole month was not a misfire. And I'm determined to have a mighty April!
I tracked my food every day this month, except for vacation days which I estimated at 2,000+ each. I only stayed within my caloric range 11/31 days. Phrasing it like that sounds terrible! I knew my eating was off, but 11/31 is eye-opening. At least I'm staying accountable to myself!
I logged in 1530 fitness minutes. I was shooting for 2000 minutes and was on target until we spent a week on vacation. We spent most of the week in the car, and the other days there was no opportunity. Next month I will reach 2000 minutes though!
I did cardio 21/31 days this month. If you subtract the week I was on vacation, I'm getting much more consistent here.
I only did one strength training workout. I admit I've dropped the ball here, and this month I'm going to take it a lot more seriously!
WEIGHT AND MEASUREMENTS
I did not remember to take measurements this month, but my clothes are a big snug. If you average my weigh-ins at the beginning of March compared to now, I appear to be up 2-3 pounds. I'm not proud of it but I'm owning it.
OTHER MARCH ACCOMPLISHMENTS
This month I read The Good Soldier, Howards End, Snow Country, and A Feast for Crows. I'm still on target of averaging one book per week!
I wrote 3 blogs of an intended 10. This month I'm shooting higher!
I spent money wisely, I filed my taxes, and I somehow almost doubled my tax return!
On a more personal note, I also got to spend two weeks with my brother who just returned from Afghanistan. Sadly we as a family celebrated the occasion a little too much with food - and I'm currently wearing the proof - but that is temporary and I'm going to change it!
DIRECTION FOR APRIL
Write 10 blogs, including 1 Orient Express blog. I've been meaning to write Orient Express blogs for months and haven't gotten to it, but I have started the blog. And the destination is Rome ;)
Write 3 chapters or 10 new pages in the novel.
Fix the laptop ... for many reasons but including so that I'm able to publish my resolutions which I typed up in January on that computer. Resolutions in April?! Bear with me.
Average 5 hours of deliberate exercise per week and earn 2,000 monthly fitness minutes!
Reinstate strength training. Details to come.
Take measurements at least once this month.
Consistently reach 8 hours of sleep a night.
Continue to work towards the no visible clutter rule in bedroom and bathroom.
Lastly and "mostly" - ha!, lose that vacation regain. I'm shooting for a three-pound loss this month, but I would be thrilled to lose five in April and five in May just in time for summer.
