I am a wee bit sore today...

I think I overdid it a little yesterday. I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning, but I got up and took the dog for a 6 mile walk. His other two walks today were shorter though. All together we walked a little over 10 miles today. I also did a little yoga type stretching. I wouldn't call it actual yoga, since I don't really know what I am doing. I just do what feels good, or what I remember from the two classes I have attended. Tomorrow is a gym day, and I will go, but I might stick to just cardio, and give my other muscles an extra day to recover. My whole core is so sore as are my shoulders... and pretty much everything else. I usually feel even more sore the second day after a really intense workout, so I am guessing that I will still be sore tomorrow.

The weather is supposed to warm up this weekend, and actually be Spring like, so I will start running outside on a regular basis. I still haven't done anything about finding someone to run with me. I am intimidated by people who consider themselves "runners," which is silly, I know, but that is just the way I feel. I want someone to run with who can challenge me to push harder, but I don't want to feel like I am holding someone back. I guess for now I will continue to run by myself, and just landmarks and the clock to push myself.

    Don't worry about what other people think when you run. Just don;t overdo.

    The running community is very supportive! Please do not feel intimidated. Today I actually passed an older man running with NO shoes on. Yes, he did look a little uncomfortable but you know what I thought ... I thought, this man has something in his heart that he is set out to prove to himself. Whatever is driving him he is letting it and I really admire that. Let your heart lead the way. You can do it, so let it!

    P.s. I once had a yoga teacher tell me that as long as you are breathing you are doing yoga :)

    You are awesome! You really pushed yourself the other day and deserve some recovery time.

    Too bad you don't live closer, my running is fairly slow. I know about not having a partner. Too bad Cooper won't run.

    Just have fun with it and give that wonderful little boy a hug. He really keeps mommy motivated and that is awesome!

    You really did overdo it rthe other day. LOL I get sore every time I do my workout but I keep doing it every 2 days. I think you are going to love running. If I were younger, thinner and had 2 good knees (LOL) I would love the freedom it would give me. The weather here is supposed to be nicer by Thursday so I am hoping for some better temps too. Have a wonderful day and kiss your poochie for me.

    It sounds like your body is giving you a message. A couple of days of varying your routine will help. The walking is also good. Hopefully your body recovers quickly.
