April 2nd - Bedtime

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

I did a few work-outs today, though they are a little fudged since my internet connection didn't load the video's properly, meaning a 12 minute workout suddenly included several 30 second breaks, etc. But still, I hope I got the benefit...I certainly feel like I've done something!

The abs and glutes ones I feel like I short-changed myself because the area in front of my laptop isn't big enough to do a full, laid down work-out properly. The cardio boxing one was pretty good, and with a little tweaking, I managed the seated arms one just fine, too. Though less than 2 minutes in my arms were already going "Oh God woman, what are you doing to us?!"

Food to day could have been worse, though I haven't been tracking it in any way, so once I've written it all down it will probably be horrific. Breakfast was 1 cup of fruit salad, no sugar, 4tsp natural yogurt, 2tsp sunflower seeds, and 1/2 cup watery porridge, made with water and semi-skimmed milk. I've lost track of the snack times, but I had 250g cherry tomatoes, a small honey treat, some (a dozen or so?) olives, and some more of the fruit salad (another cup) with seeds but no yogurt this time; the unsweetened fruit and unsweetened natural yogurt are just a little too sharp together. For lunch I was really hungry, and had 2 slices of ham (nothing special, not low fat; just wafer thin ham) between 2 slices of wholemeal bread, with some mustard and buttery spread, and a couple of little gem lettuce leaves. I was still hungry right after, so I had another, without the lettuce. I hate to say it but I think I'm just going to have to accept that I don't like lettuce! Dinner was 2 medium potatoes baked potatoes and a medium baked sweet potato with 4oz lean rump steak dressed with ginger, garlic and rosemary. I had a little butter (ok, a lot of butter) with the potatoes and an oz of cheese. However, I had my dinner spread over several hours, and had the potatoes and cheese a few hours before the work-outs, having the steak and fruit salad afterwards.

Not to lose sight of the drinks; I had 1/2 cup semi skimmed milk with a big mug of coffee this morning, with 3 tsp sugar, which was actually too sweet. Bear in mind it was a BIG mug so it's the equivalent of 1 1/2 tsp's sugar in a normal sized mug, so I'm pretty happy there. The next mug will have just 2 :-) I also had well over 8 glasses of water (though half of that was downed doing the cardio boxing work-out) and another 1 1/2 cups of semi-skimmed milk before bed with a little cinnamon. If I had vanilla flaouring there would be a little of that in there too, or maybe something alcoholic if I was being naughty (which I'm not).

Speaking of naughty drinks, I saw a recipe yesterday for a cocktail; 1 1/2oz vanilla kalua, 1 1/2oz amaretto, 3oz chocolate milk, and crushed oreo's on top. Oh, I want it! If it wasn't for the fact that I don't have £12 to spend on the amaretto, I would have probably had one already, lol. But no, I'm being good, and although I will undoubtedly have one at some point, I'm determined not to set it as a reward for my weight-loss goals; I've never held with the idea that unhealthy food should be glorified as a reward. I reward myself with mango's and grapes; I frickin love those beautiful beauties!

Anyways, bedtime for me will be in about 10 minutes (at midnight) and although I have no big stresses waiting for me tomorrow, nor have I had any today, I'm still a little ill and suddenly keenly aware of the homework I have been set during my holidays that I have yet to start.

Night night everyone!
