I've been following SP feeds and blogs when I can - about once a week. Even if I'm not posting, I'm still checking out the friend feed, I haven't forgotten about you all.
So, what's going on in this site??? :) Plans coming up??
Lots of stuff going on here, as usual. Junky weather means no outdoor events so far. I've planned a yoga class outdoors on Saturday, so we'll see if Mother Nature cooperates.
Quite a bit of my energy has been going toward yoga. Becoming a RYT-certified trainer takes a lot of time, and a lot of money!! My goal is to break even between teaching and training, which makes my goal to get this done in 2 years pretty ambitious. I still have the other two non-fitness jobs, and Y classes to teach, so.
Between the trainings, the books and the props required, it will cost me about $4,000 to get to the 200-hour level. This does not include liability coverage, clothes, rental fees, any intensive classes, etc. If you're thinking you'd like to be a yoga instructor, be sure it's a passion and not simply a VERY expensive hobby.
Some other random stuff:
--Have had some family drama/trauma lately. Not my own; but sometimes not being able to act in a situation is worse than experiencing it yourself! Control freak? It's genetic.
--Shoulder is healing up okay. Have been slowly adding in presses and pushups. Rows seem to be an issue that needs more work, but I'm getting there. It's nice to be able to move around without worrying about knee-weakening pain hitting you all of a sudden.
--The boyfriend is lovely, as always. We can be nerdy together.
--Am taking over a pilates class in the middle of April. I'm certified, but the former instructor has taught this class for a LONG time. The members are set in their ways - ugh!
--Had someone admit to me that she is in essence a drunkorexic (i.e. she looks great, totally buffed out and why not? All off her calories come from wine carbs!) She's scared to eat, scared to lose the body she worked so hard to get...aside from the fact that she got it by eating a protein bars and drinking a bottle of wine (or two) a day. A 2100-calorie starvation diet? Yeeeeup.
--Last weekend was Just a Short Run...and I didn't go for the first time ever! :( Stupid Easter weekend, I don' t even like candy...I love my Spark family...but my family-family comes first.
--Hoping to start back to my supa-woman workouts this weekend. Hope the shoulder holds - I'm maxed out on deadlifts and squats at this point. :)
Have a great week, everyone!!!
