For me, I MUST plan

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

Without a plan I am doomed. When the lunch bucket is packed it is so much easier to stay within my caloric budget.

Well, today was not toooo terrible, yet. For breakfast, since as usual I didn't prepare head of time, I grabbed the entire container of cottage cheese and the jar of peaches. They now reside in the work fridge. Saved myself there.

Easter candy is so tempting. The healthy me wants to have a piece now and then and savor the taste of really good quality chocolate. The other me, lets just say that even if it's not quality candy I'm wanting it. (sixlets at the moment).

Planning helps me. I added 1 Lindt truffle egg to the lunch bucket. I'm debating on if I will have it today or save it for tomorrow since I had all those sixlets and a half an egg on the ride to work. Probably I will have it tomorrow. It's out of sight at the moment. That calorie tracker took a hit for that one. Had I packed, then the candy would not have been an issue.

Ok, back to my original blog topic. Planning. I went to the buildings tiny cafe and got a chicken salad sandwich and vegetable soup. While eating it, I was thinking that I can make chicken salad, it's good, and easy. My vegetable soup is a lot better than this stuff. It's thick as paste. Yep, sometimes I'm a slow learner. But, hey, I'm getting there!

Dear BF, thank you for making sure I was up on time today.

Planning: Learn it. Live it.

Convince yourself that you can do better than the things that were prepared for you. So when you have the time,do it. I wark a crazy schedule, but get up and eat breakfast and vitamin every morning.( 3 A.M) take a protein shake, water and snack pre-made the night before.
I sometimes try a healthy lunch from the catereria. I already know them and they weigh your food, how awesome is that. I have a lunch date with my wife most of the week,so I eat lunch at home( 1P.M) It is healthy, trained the wife, who can't cook, but I have taught her a few things.
I make dinner for me and my boys, wife at work. Make a big pot of soup, crockpot it,freeze the leftover for a later day. Pick a cooking day, maybe spend the morn hours preparing your meals, not all day stuck in the kitchen.
You have a good guy,high-five him for having your back. emoticon

I completely agree with the planning. Without a plan -- I'm more apt to pretend there never was even a remote plan in place. So.. each week on Sunday I try to plan out my week at least the most basic things -- late meeting at work, exercise classes I want to attend, problematic days for getting dinner together etc. It really makes a big difference when I do it.
