Rant - Not Weight Loss Related

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

My boss is a butthole.

I been having a skin condition since December, I've been to the doctor's for it twice, I'm on two medications that ARE working, and yet he tells me my doctor is wrong and all I have are hives. His experience? His kid had eczema. That's it. He only saw the back of one calf, and he's the FREAKING expert. What's annoying is I've avoided telling him about it this entire time I've had it since I KNEW he would say something like that.

This guy also told me that I shouldn't have made my dog throw up after he ate raisins, even though animal POISON CONTROL told me to do it. He also told me after my husband's dad died that "after my wife's dad died is when our relationship fell apart". Great freakin' advice to give someone who just had a huge loss. "Oh not only will you lose your family but your husband will leave you."

I refer to him in matters of JEWELRY only, since he is a JEWELER AND GEMOLOGIST. But when it comes to relationships, medicine, my dog or ANYTHING ELSE, I just go "uh huh" and change the subject. But it makes me SO MAD!!!!!

His freakin' 19 year old son is EXACTLY like him. Always knows best.

I'M GOING TO BE 32 YEARS OLD AND MY DOCTOR HAS NEVER FAILED ME. I ASK QUESTIONS, I'M NOT A BLIND BELIEVER, AND I DO MY RESEARCH. I'M NOT SOME MORON WHO JUST GOES "OH OKAY, WHATEVER YOU SAY BOSS, IT MUST BE TRUE".

His actual words were "I know you like your doctor, but that's definitely hives."

*STABBITY STABBITY STABBITY HE MAKES ME SO ANGRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY*

I wish writing it out had made me feel better but I still have to deal with him for another 7 hours today, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hahaha - Not much more I could add that hasn't already been said. Just have to "ditto" all of it.
Although, I do specifically agree with VHALKYRIE and BEECHNUT13. emoticon

    Hope tomorrow is better!

Tell him to mind his own. I did when someone at work was annoying me and they haven't bothered me since. Just something like "You lecturing me is getting on my nerves, and it really has to stop" would probably do the trick

I am sure he is also the guy that "knows someone" who has experienced everything under the sun. You just got to know who you are dealing with and try your best not to smack them.

Sorry you have to deal with a know-it-all buttface! I hope ranting made you feel better. I laughed out loud when I got to STABBITY STABBITY STABBITY, hahahahaha.

Lucky me- my know it all coworker decided to leave for another job. I had been fantasizing about setting up a "It's Him Or Me" meeting with my boss, hahahaha. Gotta be worse when it IS the boss!

I know it's frustrating!! Is there anything...ANY thing that he doesn't know about? Would be nice to turn the table on him a bit, not that he'd ever recognize it. Oh! Even better, he's a prime candidate to be "punked".

Please remember that if you ever, and I mean EVER, ate over stress, feelings, emotions, or depression, or aggravation...needing to rant has EVERYTHING to do with weight loss! Rant away! And always examine the source. Some people's opinions on certain subjects are completely dismissible. You don't have to give it another thought.

I'm sorry to find humor in your anger and frustration, but "STABBITY, STABBITY, STABBITY" makes me laugh out loud. You've got skills Andrea. Look for a job where you don't feel like jabbing your (or anyone else's) eyes out. As Ladyinthewoods says, life is too short. Looking doesn't commit you to anything.

Hey Chica! So glad you have us here to VENT to! He would drive me crazy! I do believe most offices have someone of that nature or the one who has done everything I mean everything!

Breathe and release, then breathe again and release. Repeat as necessary to keep calm! emoticon

WOW. You know - it is none of his business to comment on your personal health or your relationships. I know some people are experts at prying information - they just seem to find out about you. Document what he says and if it gets worse, I would talk with your HR office about whether this unsolicited advice counts as a form of harassment.

Whoa! I have dealt with people like that too and I understand it takes a lot to bite your tongue and not fling the junk he is telling you back at him... Glad you came here to rant... Take a deep breath and remember that we are all here to listen. I don't blame you for the frustration and proud of you for keeping your cool, at least to his face. You are a intelligent woman who knows what is best for her life. Keep doing what you are doing!

I would be looking for a new workplace. Life is too short to spend that much time with someone that drives you so crazy, for a paycheck. Sending you some good vibes for a calm day. Inner-peace. Joy in the secret places of your heart.

I HATE people that feel they are the experts on absolutely everything. There's a guy in my office that is constantly offering his opinion on all things healthy. He tried to convince me to do some "liver cleanse" diet and said that my liver is why I had to have my gallbladder and appendix removed. I've heard him lecturing someone drinking Mountain Dew because supposedly it lowers your immunity. And we won't discuss what he was saying about natural births last week. Ugh. People really need to learn to not offer an opinion unless someone asks!

Hope your day gets better! Sending virtual earplugs your way!

Why is it that some people think they know everything and then they have to force their opionins on everyone else?? Maybe he actually doesn't know anything about jewelry either.... maybe he's just making it all up????? Bless you for putting up with him!!! emoticon
