I took the grand to see "Oz, the Great and Powerful" yesterday afternoon and we both had a great time. I convinced her to try the popcorn without butter and to get a bottle of water instead of soda. After about 15 minutes she decided she needed the butter so had it added but stuck with the water. Progress comes in baby steps.

Sounds like you had a great day! Keep trying to help your grand eat a healthy diet. She may surprise you one day and it will all have been worth the effort!

Good for her for sticking with the water and good for you for being such a great role model!

Did you like the movie? My favorite is the Wizard of Oz and I'm pretty much an Oz purist (I didn't like Wicked at all), so I'll be interested to hear what you thought about the movie.

Oh and get this, one of the munchkins lived in St. Louis and was a patient at one of the hospitals I worked at. The first time I saw him I thought he was a little teeny tiny grandma...nope just a Munchkin. Really a nice guy, I liked taking care of him and he was really gracious with his time. I got an autographed picture of him and some really great memories.

Very good try! And success with the water!! I'm impressed. I find it so hard to help my grands when so many other people in their lives go with the sugary, salty, fatty foods. But I'm not giving up, either. We get in a fruit here and a veggie there. Do the best we can. Glad you had a great time with the grand!! Take care.
