Time to turn it on....

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

Well, I have a little less than 2 months before we go to Vero Beach for our vacation....I'd really like to tone up my trouble spots, namely the thighs and arms. This is the first time I have willingly wanted and planned a trip to a sunny location that would demand a wearing of the dreaded bathing suit. I am really looking forward to it! Talk about progress! Over the past 5 months or so, with the holidays and the switching of my meds, I have gained about 10 pounds or so... to be expected, but the difference is I am paying attention and am working to change that right away, not just sit and let it continue to happen. So I have started being more active, today I did 15 minutes cardio boxing with weighted gloves, and 5 min intense step aerobics. Followed by a few stomach exercises... I am going to really worry about my workouts, and not freak out on the food, although passing Starbucks up is on the agenda. Later I may convince my daughter to go fo a jog. Over all, things are going okay, adjusted to my new meds, although my hair is still falling out...trying not to let that get to me, starting just to accept that is part of all the fun of seizure meds....among other things....gosh, I am full of sarcasm this morning...oh well. Tomorrow, its time for kettle bells...which I love. 20 minutes= good cardio and weight it! Time to hit the shower!

You have a good plan--it's the consistency, keeping at it, that is hard to do. I'm sorry about the medication you're on and hopefully your hair will stop falling out once you adjust to it. Now, I have to defend Starbucks. Whenever I go there I order the skinny latte which is skim milk and espresso, and not many calories--just in the milk which is good for you. I usually sit there, sipping the coffee and reading my book. I'm glad you wrote.

I hope things work out well for you! I have never been to Starbucks! There is one in my home town, but since I like my coffee hot and black and Folger's it hardly seems worth it!
