We all enjoy giving advice to others and we all give it in different ways. The key to giving advice is to ask questions to gain more understanding about the situation. Asking open ended questions will give us more information and give the other person time to think about what solutions are available to him. When we do this the right way, we are being a friend. We are building trust. We are showing them we don’t have all the answers but we care.

Proverbs 12:26 “The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know that everyone has issues in life. There are those who don’t know where to turn. There are those who have given up. There are those who don’t understand what is going on. Help us to be a friend today to these people. Help us to ask the right questions to show we care and provide them with good godly advice so we can be a true friend to them. Thank You for the opportunities to be a friend today, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are a little happy that someone else has troubles, we are not being their friend.

Our attitude toward others who are struggling can be the one thing that helps them along the way.

Being a godly friend to others will help them in their time of need.

We won’t always have the right answers when others are struggling but we can ask God what is the best thing we can do for them. He will help us to be their caring friend.

Godly advice is the best advice. Ask God to help you today to be a godly friend to someone in need.

Proverbs 12:5 “The plans of the godly are just; the advice of the wicked is treacherous.” (NLT)

"In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us. In Adversity We Know Our friends." Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be honest and respectful in all things. Yes and amen! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
