My husband doesn't run. 5 years ago, in my mid-40s, I didn't, either. Running does not one easily to me. I have to work at it -- hard. And that's a life lesson I've learned & DH hasn't; altho of course you could learn that from many things other than running.
Life isn't easy. In fact, I'd go as far to say that life SHOULDN'T be easy - even tho of course sometimes we all want a little easy! But good things come to those who work hard & usually we appreciate it all the more because of our hard work.
Speaking of easy, last night my dinner come out of a box. With more than 5 ingredients. Channa masala from trader joes that even DH at least tolerated, even if he wondered where's the beef? With yogurt for dessert. Noosa yogurt is worth every penny.
And speaking of yesterday's eats, I had no snacks. 3 squares & I was done. That is VERY unusual for me. Sometimes when you eat whole foods (the channa masala may have come out of a box, may have had more than 5 ingredients, but they were all real foods), you get to eat more & feel truly nourished.
Last weekend, in fact, I turned down buttered popcorn when DH decided to make some. I thought I would struggle with that, what with the smells & all, but even tho I would've loved to have some I knew not participating that day was the right decision for me & it didn't bother me.
What does bother me? April & an inch of snow on the ground & I'm not foolin'! At least it's supposed to warm up again by the weekend - altho we've yet to see temps in tbe 60s & I got my grocery shopping done yesterday because I knew today's weather was supposed to be crappy. Not that the wind, falling temps or downpour yesterday were that much better.
March's goals went really well, btw - finally getting me down to within 2 lbs of my WW (not personal) goal; altho not keeping me there. I am thinking about April's goals, but not quite finished yet.
