Ups and downs

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

I realize that it has been a while since I've posted. Last week definitely started as a down. Huge fight with my husband that he just doesn't see cancer treatment as debilitating, so I should be doing what I normally do. Considered dropping out of treatment. rest of the week was not necessarily up, just not as far down. Now I am just chomping at the bit to be finished. Work was not much better. Someone had a clever idea about what the seniors could do during testing (doesn't it seem obscene that education cannot occur in my building for anyone due to testing), which was not really a good idea. Had mini-riots in my class. Told them that they probably wanted me in the auditorium rather than babysitting people, but they were sure they had it covered. At noon I was dispatched to take care of a few hundred seniors who had escaped from the auditorium and into the cafeteria. Yes, one person can face down that many, if you are mean enough and know enough names. However, would have been nice to have admin with me. Today, have been relieved of my babysitting duties and sent to watch the seniors. What a good plan... If any of you wonder why teachers don't want to test, this is another reason.

I'm sure it took toughness as well as integrity to stand those hormone-raging seniors down. For what it's worth (and at the risk of offending sensibilities), attagirl! I know it' s tougher yet trying to get men of a certain age to value housework, so my sympathies too. emoticon And I hope you can find the time to take care of yourself too, which might mean a teensy bit of emoticon emoticon emoticon

take your husband to your next appointment and have your doctor talk to him and explain the way it is. he may be scared to lose you and and the thought of doing womens work scares the crap out of him, if you cant do what you used to it makes your treatments more real. if you are as active as before he can hide from the reality. Glad you can handle those seniors you are one tough cookie. I sure hope next week slows down for you, hugs. you need and deserve lots of them

What a challenging time you are having! PLEASE look after yourself! You are so important and you deserve to have good, healthy food, time to exercise, time to relax, and lots of good sleep. So much is expected of you, but unless you really look after yourself you will find it hard to do everything that is asked of you.

And, as for the people around you, I hope that you can explain to your partner about just how hard your treatment is (both physically and mentally) and I hope that you can also ask your work people to find people to help you.

I wish I was there to help!

Please keep blogging! We care about you and want to help you.

Love and hugs to you.

Sorry you are having such a rough time. We are on the downhill side of this slippery slope we have been on with radiation treatments not knowing for sure how our body would react. Hang in there! emoticon
