Exercising My Way....

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

Well I guess I don't know myself as well as I thought. I can't seem to stick with any exercise on a consistent basis. I know I should but, I don't do it. Even with all my planning so I have decided to just stay busy at the things I want and like even love doing, like working outside in my garden or working with the horses or building and restoring things. I'll just see how that goes, instead, of taking yet another Spark Break and gaining more weight. I have to keep telling myself: IF YOU ARE TIRED OF STARTING OVER, STOP GIVING UP!

Sometime I will do my Callanetics and Walk, Iím just not going by a schedule. My only goal is to lose 5 pounds a month and I will post it on my Spark page and in my Current Status.
(like this) Starting Apr. 1st and on the 1st of every month, I will lose 5 lbs a month!
4/1/13 ~ SW 181.0 ~~ GW 176.0 ~~ CW 181.0 ~~ 5.0 lbs to Go!
4/2/13 ~ SW 181.0 ~~ GW 176.0 ~~ CW 182.4 ~~ 6.4 lbs to Go!

So, today Apr. 1, 2013 this is what I did.
1st I was on Sparkpeople from about 8 AM until around 1:30 PM. I really do enjoy posting and reading stuff on SP.

Then I went to our wood shop and finished priming some camp tables that I started yesterday.

I wanted to get the dirt in our raised garden that Dubby and I built last week. We got one side partly filled with the dirt from last years garden but needed more so we went to the horse paddock with the tractor and brought back 3 or 4 bucket load of horse poop after spending 2 hours with us both shoveling it into the tractor bucket from the inside of the horse stalls. We also removed half of a working pen fence with in the paddock. All together I spent 4 hours moving my body but I enjoyed every bit of it.

I donít know how to put that in the Fitness Tracker yet but I know that had to be more exercise than just walking a mile or 2 cause Iím really tired but it felt great. Just think, these are things I love doing. Go figure!

The strange thing is, even though I feel I have diligently been working at losing weight for the past 5 years and then some before SP, I KNOW I WILL. I also know I will take one step forward and two steps back sometime (thatís been my history) but, in the long run I will win this battle with my weight.

I was working on this blog last night and just fell asleep at my desk. I guess I did to much yesterday and didnít get this posted until this morning Tue. 4/2/13.

Have a great week everybody.

Hugs,
Charlie

Do the things you love, sounds like they are things that keep you moving and busy. While you are busy you are not eating!! Cut out a few calories while you're doing this and you'll lose.. emoticon
I enter outside work as Farm Work in my fitness tracker . It does count as calories burned.

I believe you are doing this right Charlie. Eating healthy and moving, doing things you ENJOY doing will keep you moving a lot more then an exercise routine that can get stale. As far as following it on the fitness tracker you might set yourself for cardio every day and then look at those options, there is yard work and what not in those lists.
Keep happy my friend and remember its not the destination but the journey that is fulfilling!
Love ya Suzy
