I began the day with a mission in mind. I had no clue what a mixed bag the day would be. I will begin with the negative because I always choose to end on a positive.
Bad: I was headed into a town about 17 miles away to check out a clothing sale. It was an uneventful drive there, so I was totally unprepared for what happened when I arrived. I ventured into the store and was immersed in my task. After making a successful find, I came out of the store to find that someone had hit my left, rear bumper and done some nasty damage (to the tune of just under $1000, according to the estimate). Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And the bugger did not even have the courtesy to leave a note.
Good: While I was in the store shopping, I found a pair of jeans on the clearance rack that were originally $48.00 and marked down to $14.00. The only problem was that they were I size I haven't worn since Junior High. I looked at them longingly and debated whether or not to try them on with the thought that I could wear them in another month with continued weight loss. Once in the dressing room, I was stunned when I pulled them on and they FIT! I couldn't believe it!
Awesome: I immediately pulled the tags off the pants and chose not to change back into the slacks I had worn into the store. I promptly walked up to the counter, tags in hand and made my purchase. In the process, I had an epiphany. When I began my SparkPeople journey on July 31st of last year, I wore a women's size 34 pant (a 4X). The pants I had just purchased were a regular women's size 16. I had no words for the moment, just a sense of amazement, wonder, and immense gratitude...
