Dinner with Mom and Stepdad & Winter Hike Photos

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

We enjoyed the young chef's efforts at turkey dinner tonight -the turkey was done just perfectly! I asked if he could take our photo when he came around. He asks every single person who eats there what they think of the meal each time after we are finished eating!

I was a little late getting this photo showing how much snow we had -this sign and fence was two thirds covered by snow and stuck open a week ago, melting has been strong. Mom uses the opportunity to test Daisy's wait skills ;) She listens really well and her recall is amazing!

I never get tired of hitting the woodsy trails around here, winter or summer.
Mom and Daisy leading the way up the hill

Queen of the hill:

Down at the bottom

Always a branch leaning over the path to give us work on squats :P

up along the farm field of the university:

The place where the police moved a squatter out, look closely and you can see his little bench, they cleared everything else out:

Returning home to the mound of snow in front of their house :P

A busy week ahead. Appointments (three), getting going on the phoning and matching of rookie masters. I only have one bridge game to play, Wednesday, a relief.
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my, squatters in the snow... That seems so sad or crazy or something...

It is so great how you and your mother love to hike together. It is a wonderful way to share time and fun and get some good quality exercise in. I am so impressed with the two of you. It is so good that you have Daisy there to supervise!!

I hope that the remnants of another cold winter can melt away into the sunset for you all.
    Gentle hugs,

I am sure you're done with winter and ready for spring, but oh! I do wish I'd seen some snow this winter!

What lovely pictures! Daisy is a terrific dog: she's really got "wait" down! Thanks for your kind comment on my "off leash" blog: tonight Charlie was practising his "leave it" command and did very well until I accidentally tossed the freeze-dried liver treat right on his paw!! (That was way too tempting . . . ).

Beautiful pics! I can't imagine so much snow at all! I do wish we had some trails and hills here to walk on. Needless to say, there isn't much inspiration in dry, flat, sparse land. emoticon It's already been hitting 80-90 some days here. I can imagine that summer will just be lovely tipping over 100 everyday. That Daisy sure is cute! Yellow labs are one of my favorites--maybe because that was my first childhood dog. I love the picture of you and your family. You look lovely! emoticon

Lovely picture of the three of you! I'd swear your mother isn't aging at all so you obviously have great genes on your side.

Tell me again about Daisy? Your mom is fostering her, right. For how long now? She is gorgeous.

The trail pictures are amazing. It looks like you still have snow or were these pictures taken awhile ago? Our ground is pretty well clear now but the town about one hour away got 38 cm of snow over the weekend. All winter the storms have been further north and east of us which is fine by me!

Take care and let us know how your appointments go

Great photo of you and your parents! Love all the snow photos (reminds me of the last big snow we had in Ohio, before we moved to FL)!
Daisy is a cutie! Isn't that funny how dogs just love the snow...well most of them! Mine didn't though! Have a great week and hope the appointments go well!
Thanks for your awesome comment on my new blog! You are the emoticon emoticon
