Sorry but I have to vent again.

It's not like I have a busy social life...right now, pretty much everything revolves around my family. So when I received a shower invitation in the mail today, I was elated! I thought "Oh good, another goal date!" and "I wonder what I'll wear? Maybe the new dress I got for Easter! Just think how much better it'll look on me in 4 more weeks!"
Then my bubble burst.

My mom informed me that none of our side of the family can attend since my niece is performing again. Yes, I realize she's a prodigy & yes, we're supposed to be supportive, but seeing as this is the same performance as 2 weeks ago but with a different orchestra...

So now the theory is that this shower besides being hosted by the mother of the bride & mother of the groom is *SO* wrong, now the reigning thought is that it was intentionally scheduled for that date BECAUSE none of us can go!

Now, I like to think that people are not inherently evil and that my cousin's wife would not do this on purpose, but seeing as how she doesn't like her any of her in-laws (or me anymore, nor my sister apparently) and she knew about this performance months ago AND my niece is soloing with her brother-in-law (he plays violin in this orchestra)...well, it is highly suspect.
I know how busy planning a wedding is...
but she's the mother of the groom so she doesn't have much to do with it.

Another cousin and my uncle (her sister- & father-in-law) have already purchased tickets for the event, so that's why my sister says that none of the "Smiths" will be at the shower.

She doesn't like any of the Smiths, so that's why the prevailing thought now is that it was intentional...

And people wonder why we'll never have world peace.
