Cutting it short....... :(

Tuesday, April 02, 2013

So yesterday I was not feeling well at all, I have really severe asthtma which I have had under control for the most part at least for the past few weeks. Well I have been very congested for about a month and up until today I attributed that to allergies. Well this morning I was not feeling well and discovered I had an upper respiratory infection. Despite noy feeling well I still managed to walk for two hours and go cycling. I tried my hardest to make it through my workout this evening but unfortunatly I had to cut it just a little short as I could not breath (not the usual cardio I feel good I can do this, but the if I keep going my sister will be calling 911 because ai am on the floor blue). I just needed to get this out so I could stop dwelling on the fact that I did not finish, because it is really bugging me. I have always been very obsessive and competitve by nature, and every day I am competing with the me of yesterday. On the up side I did make it through all of my strength training work out on top of walking ang biking so I guess I can call that an accomplishment for the day

I think you did a great job considering how awful you felt. Respiratory problems are serious, so I think you should be really proud of yourself for all that you did accomplish.

That infection is not to take lightly. Your body needs rest and you'll be back at it in no time.

    Get well soon.

Give yourself a pat on the back for all you accomplished! Too many times we are our own worst critics. Sounds like you are really pushing yourself, so give yourself a little get-well time. :) Our bodies need that renewal time! Take care and be blessed! emoticon

Resting and giving your body time to heal will make you stronger in the long run.

I know exactly how you feel. I have allergy induced asthma and I can't tell you how many workouts I just can't finish. The good new is that, when we feel better, we can always workout again! Go easy on yourself. Accept your limitations. No need to beat yourself up, there are too many people out there who are willing to do that for you! emoticon

I agree that you need to take care of yourself. You need to get over the infection and then go back to working out again.
