I join challenges because I think they would be fun. Then after I join them and realize how much logging is required I get irritated but because I am hard wired to complete what I start, I see the challenges through begrudgingly. On the flip side, although my weight has not changed since November, I am still motivated to continue exercising and eating more healthy. I used to snack three times a day, eating 100-150 calorie snacks and now I have cut back on those. The snacks I used to eat, like the Quaker granola bars, I have switched out for nuts and organic raisins, non-sweetened apple sauce or a serving of veggies (snap peas and string beans (fresh) tend to have a subtle sweetness to them that I like). I read labels now when I shop and do not purchase the processed foods that I used to, well with the exception of organic deli meat that has no fillers, no hormones, gluten free and and no antibiotics or msg. I no longer crave bread daily like I used to and I have the occassional soda (diet) or cup of kool aid. I do not deprive myself, I just find that the junk that I used to like, I just don't have a desire for all the time like I used to. So, even though I get irritated from all the logging that I have to do, I am still motivated to keep on doing it because I believe that logging has helped me make some positive changes in my life.
