Day of Recovery

I am recovering from having 14 for Easter dinner yesterday. 14 people, 2 dogs, 1 house; whew! I did not have much time to visit but I did enjoy the progressively loud voices of family as they were exchanging updates, laughing and enjoying each other. It was a nice background for my mother hen duties of cooking and serving.

I continue to fight against what is best for me, self destructive habits that push me away from what I have said is important to me. I did complete the 21 day meditation challenge. I enjoyed it and learned a lot of new and interesting information. Will I continue on?

I'm taking this week to recover, focus and plan. Then I will do a weigh in on next Monday and go from there. As I read my friends' blogs I see so much progress in every one of them. I can see the positive changes in their thinking and in the choices they make. I celebrate their success!! I am so proud of what they are achieving.

But I want it too. They motivate me in many ways.

Travelgrrl, spring in Michigan - the snow has shrunk below the bowl of the birdbath but it will be a while yet before I can fill it with water. A few brave robins have returned and probably sorry they did not wait.

    I love those times of facilitating the crowd. It's one of my great joys as a mom....seeing how much they enjoy each other, the bonds they have built.

    You will figure this out. You did the meditations for a month....look at your focus, to accomplish that! It will come.

    You deserve a metal for hosting 14 people! Sounds like a great day for everyone though and you made it happen!! Take pleasure in that.

    Now it's time for you and me to get down to business and get ourselves healthy. Travelgrrl has got it figured out and we just need to follow her example.

    WE CAN DO IT - so how about getting started RIGHT NOW??

    You are a brave soul... that is why I go out for Easter Brunch. (call me chicken)
    Congrats on completing the mediation. I plan on revisiting the posted mediations while they are still up. That way I get extra and get to revisit Week 2 and 3. What a bonus!!! That mediation made me think.

    You will create habits that help you. You will. Just start with one simple positive action to meet your needs. That is all it takes.

    Wow, hosting 14 people is at LEAST a week's worth of activity! You deserve a rest week!

    I've missed you on Spark and are glad you are back -- a blog from both you and Vandal on the same day -- it feels like a reunion of sorts!

    If you are like me, this journey takes a LOT more of your attention & focus than you would think. But there you are. It's either worth it or it isn't. I admire you for doing the 21 day meditation challenge; I did two days and couldn't get further. I have a real mental block when it comes to sitting quietly, I think. I know several other Sparkers who got a lot out of it.

    I will always think fondly of the 48 years I lived in Michigan, and remember how eagerly everyone awaits the first signs of spring... emoticon
