Water, water everywhere

Monday, April 01, 2013

I had a 2 pt spin this morning so a quick bloggy-poo to get me over the hump to a bonus spin. I'm a sucker for that bonus wheel...but anyway.

My school services the emotionally disabled. Some of them are not very clean. One day, about my 2nd week, the head of security discretely pulled me aside after seeing me drink from one of the public water fountains and strongly encouraged me not to use that as my daily water source.

"Most of us have a bottle that we refill for our water."

Huh? Well that's awkward.

So I really have been struggling with my hydration on a daily basis. Coupled with the nonstop action no downtime workload. Getting time to drink and getting time to the bathroom is problematic. And I know there is a large number of you out there in Sparkland saying "how do you not have time to pee?" And there are a few who know with all too much familiarity EXACTLY what I'm saying.

But last week I thought about something...I'm in a science classroom! With a sink! And running water! So I brought a plastic cup from home and now make a point of getting 6-8 oz somewhere around 4th period. Keeps me going and in better frame of mind before lunch 6th. Bathroom stops are still as you can, but I'm hopeful that this problem will be solved also.

Hoping you got your 8x8 today!

I hear you! Tuesdays and Thursdays, I'm in the classroom from 10:30am to 3:30pm. I can get out to refill water, or pee, but not both. fun fun fun! ;)

The Brita bottles (with the built in filters) are really nice.

Best of luck on getting to the potty!

I work in a laboratory which is pretty much in biologic-locked-down mode. No drinking until you wash up and leave the room.

Of course the reason you are leaving the room is to pee because you tried to load up the last time you left the room!

I teach too, but I'm lucky enough to have someone else in the classroom in case I need to leave.

I'm like LESLIELENORE - I get headaches when I'm not drinking enough, so I try my best to get enough. It's tough! emoticon

As a teacher, I can truly relate...Can you say racehorse? I certainly was pissing like one when I began drinking the necessary 8x8. Yep. True health hazard (amongst the other things) in our profession.
