Calorie Range

Monday, April 01, 2013

I find that I have been consistently eating above my calorie range recently. I'm not quite sure why. I've been using a bit more avocado and butter, which are good for me, but certainly not excessively. I eat some dark chocolate regularly, but almost never more than a serving. I do need to cut my fish down to 3oz instead of the whole piece, which is usually 6-7oz. Salad dressing is a calorie range killer...

Perhaps it the mango in my morning bowl of fruit. Today I cut out Kirkland Dried Fruit and Nuts in favor of a couple of TBSP of slivered almonds. Dried fruit has a lot of sugar and calories

Ah, this tweaking as I try to prepare simpler, easier to track meals that fall within the appropriate range. I can do this!

I kept the avocado and went with I cant believe its not butter - light.

We also cut out store bought salad dressing and changed to olive oil dressing that we just love. Here it is:

8 cloves garlic, minced or finely chopped (more if you LOVE garlic)
1/2 tsp of black pepper (more if desired)
2 tsp salt
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 cup Freshly squeezed lemon juice - adjust if to much lemon for your taste

- Mix all ingredients into a container with secureable lid

- Shake vigorously until olive oil and lemon juice blend into one, after about 1 minute of shaking.

- Spread over fresh spinach or any shredded salad greens!

    This is interesting...

I posted on a thread (forget which) yesterday where people were sharing their consumed calories.

I'm just going to say this but it's not judgmental or anything:

I eat MORE, way more, than anybody listed -- including the MEN. I'm 5'2" and a size 6 (sometimes 4).

I'm NOT working out regularly right now due to a bunch of issues, though I'm getting ready to start moving again.

I'm just tossing this out there cos I don't understand it.

Our bodies are pretty finely tuned. I know I overeat on calories when I'm short on sleep or really stressed.
