It takes a Village-Mt Baldy

Monday, April 01, 2013

I did yet another Mount Baldy hike and it just gets better each time. The trail was so beautiful and groomed. I become more fascinated with this area each time I go. I suppose nature is like that, right? On this hike we started in Baldy Village.

I was pleasantly surprised we still had our wee bit of snow and it was a great day! I am feeling like I need to try to go back this weekend and get some more snow action. I know that is amusing to many of my Spark friends who are completely fed up with the snow.

I had the Bichons over for a few days, Beau and Paige were extremely well behaved. Tiger (big orange cat) was his usual anti-social self so he was just alone the way he likes it.

I think it's nice to see snow as well. Oh us folks from So. Calf. lol. We can see a bit of snow on Mt. Baldy from here. Unless we get one more cold streak, it will be gone soon. Looks like a beautiful day. I'm glad you went. emoticon

all the years I've lived in this area I have never hiked up there, just looked at it from the front window. I'm surprised there is still some snow.

Looks like a gorgeous place to hike. I think we're finally done with the snow up here. We've had some California blue skies!

emoticon With MS, you do super great. I love walks because I get to be outside and enjoy nature and, living in Florida (the months when the temperature is under 75 degrees), I love the birds and flowers. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic photos of a great area! Being warm enough to be able to wear a sleeveless top in spite of the presence of snow -priceless! Its not so much I hate snow, its the bitterly cold temps and winds that usually come with it :P, not to mention the slippery, messy melting transition to spring. If only we could skip some of that!
look forward to more on this hiking trail in the future, its sure special!!!
Lovely way to spend Easter!

Beautiful scenery, what a lovely area to hike. You look terrific in the photo. As for snow, I know you don't get it 6 months of the year, so I will forgive your obsession. It's much nicer when you can play in it, then leave. ;P

Wow, when I saw your blog, I thought why do I know where Mt Baldy is? So I googled it and realized many many years ago, when I was living in So Cal ( I now live in No Cal) I went to a church camp up somewhere near Mt Baldy. It was so beautiful there but I remember running down a hill to beat a forest fire out of the area. lol
So your blog not only made me google Mt Baldy but made me realize how old I'm getting. I couldn't place where I new that from. Silly. LOL
Loved the pictures, beautiful landscape and a hike down memory lane. Thanks.

Glorious views! Hope you get another trip back to frolic in the wee bit of snow left. And I'd prefer if it was kept away from me.
