I joined a local weight loss challenge group 4 weeks ago, which runs for 12 weeks.
We were all measured on the day of registration and again this evening after 1 month had passed.
During the month :
The first week I had the greatest weight loss which wins you a crown for the evening. It's a cheap little silver thing....and all about fun. You also get asked to stand in front of the group and tell them what you did to achieve the largest weight loss. You also win a delightful tasting, healthy energy bar.
The week after that I won it again, but by then I had also joined a boot camp for women and attend it 3 times a week. This means getting up at 5am and being ready to leave the house by 5.15 to get to the school fields by 5.30am. Boot camp starts at 5.30am SHARP, our trainer waits for no one. The camp is exactly 1 hour long...come rain or shine. There is an undercover areas for when it rains, as it did this morning. Its so fabulous because its cool at that time of the morning, cool, dark, and really crisp and by the time we are doing cooling down stretches after the hour, the sun is coming up. Such a magnificent sight. Still no photos.
The following week, my friend Carol had joined the weight loss challenge and we both lost the same weight and both got to wear a crown. Our team leader only had one energy bar, which Carol got and I received a shaker which delighted me no end, because it was on my list to purchase that very evening. Fabulous gift....better than any energy bar.
Tonight I wasn't the biggest loser of the evening even though I was perfect about the challenge, I inherited on loan a thing called a figure trimmer. You stand on it, and then TWIST. It absolutely works the calves, hamstrings and waist. I spent most of this afternoon on in (its such fun) and on top of boot camp this morning, my muscle mass was greater but my weight loss was not.
However, I was the biggest loser of the month which got me a HUGE CROWN and a chocolate energy bar which I shared with my sister in the car on the way home.
After dealing with the weight loss, we were all measured again and these are my stats.
Upper chest was 116cm now 110.5 = minus 5.5cm
Chest was 138cm now 131.5 = minus 6.5cms
Waist was 132cm now 124 - minus 8cms
Hips 147cm now 140 = minus 7cms
Right thigh was 68cm now 66 = minus 2cms
Left thigh was 67cm now 65.6 = minus 1.4cms
Right arm was 47cm now 43.5 = minus 3.5cms
Left arm was 47cm now 43.5 = minus 3.5cms
That's a total of 37.4cms gone.
I also lost 7.1 kgs for the month all told. This would be 7 x 1kg margarine tubs.
I'm so happy with these results. I can't wait to see what each Monday weigh is brings, and what each alternate days boot camp brings.....phew THAT is getting tough...my word. But tough and yet still fabulous feeling. I love that after action fatigue where its hard to walk and talk
So a good March month for me weight loss wise.
