Awesome April + Helping or Hindering?

I want to take a minute to evaluate where I am on this journey and identify things that may help or hinder me in my pursuit to make it into the 180's this month.


I'm very proud of my accomplishments and looking forward to meeting additional goals this month. I don't feel like I'm at imminent risk of veering off course but I do feel, at the moment, somewhat diminished fervor for my wellness journey (could be TOM).


My dance studio (wonderful support system)
My CSA (fruit and veggie overload!)
My sleep routine (I'm getting awesome sleep and have high energy)
My careful avoidance of certain foods (no binges)
Reducing alcohol (I feel and look better!)
Reducing TV time (I'm getting less than 2 hours a week and I try to fill the rest of my time with actual activities)
My husband (he's been super supportive lately!)
Consistency (I've been doing pretty much the same thing day in and day out since January)


I could probably be eating fewer nuts. I've been having a handful or two a day, I could probably take that down to a few servings a week.
Too many goals (I have this under control at the moment but my tendency is to overwhelm myself with goals and give up).
Caving to social pressure (I drank this weekend solely due to peer pressure)
Changing things up (I've been thinking about upping the ST but I'm not sure now's the time and I worry that changing things up could disturb my all important consistency).

What has been helping you achieve your goals? Can you think of anything that could possibly be hindering your progress? Let's make April awesome!

    Oh how I know about the drinking and stuff. For me just because I go out with my friends does not mean I need to drink. I can sing Karaoke without alcohol. I only drink once a week on Friday when I go out, but still.

    I love the attention you give this journey, be careful not to over think. If you have changes you want to make maybe making them one at a time is the way to go. Don't take on the next little program tweak until one feels completely comfortable, that way you don't overwhelm yourself.

    You have so many strengths which are going to see you through this journey. Those things that are causing speedbumps, you seem to have under control. You've got this!

    I love nuts too. They are so flipping calorie/fat intense, I try to avoid them. It's hard for me to stick to a proper portion.

    I think my water intake and active lifestyle is helping me reach my goals. I think my lack of tracking my nutrition has hindered me reaching my goals. I had tracked for my entire journey and then in February I fell off. I Am seriously contemplating joiing Weight Watchers because not only will I have to track, but I will have something to be accountable to. I used to have my little sister but she fell off the wagon so I no longer have a weight loss partner for that support and accountability.

    Good job in meeting the goals you have set. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a cocktail here or there it just needs to be a conscious decision not because of peer pressure.

    I'm like you in that I tend to try to meet too many goals at once and I get really overwhelmed. I have to just focus on a few major goals each month in order to not get burnt out. For your ST...don't feel like you have to change things up if you love what you're doing and feel good. But if you do want to try something different, just go with a small change. Maybe one extra ST session a week, just to see what it does?

    April is awesome - especially if you live in Michigan! It means you can do more things outdoors without layering up with warm clothes! I'm looking forward to walking more outdoors and less on the treadmill! Sounds like you have a plan to make this month awesome for you too! So, let's quit talking about it and let's DO it to make sure it is!!!
