I haven't been feeling great lately. I hurt my lower back...I assume it may have occurred during JELF when I was doing the exercise when you balance on one foot and bend over and raise the back leg and pick up a dumbbell. I only did it one session like that and during the session felt very uncomfortable. The next time I did it I bent my back leg and that was better. It went away and I didn't think much of it. About 3 weeks ago I went jogging outside on the first nice day of the spring. The first mile was great...was thrilled I did so well on my time. Into the second mile my lower back cramped up. I stopped walked, stretched and walked/jogged back to my car. Since that time I had a constant back ache..didn't matter if I was sitting, standing, laying down and Motrin just barely touched it... I ordered new running shoes when I checked and discovered it has really been over a year since I had new ones hoping that was part of the issue. My husband goes to the chiropracotor almost every Friday so I went with him this Friday. The doctor said I had a bulge along my lower lumbar. He massaged and adjusted me. I felt sooo goood for about 3 hours, but than OMG...worse than before. Friday night was tough..very sore, so was Saturday, but it was SOO nice out. So I decided to go for a walk to see if that would help and to break in my new shoes. The walk made me feel a little better. Yesterday was better than Saturday and today, so far so good, but I feel tender. My huband said I should expect to be sore for a few days if my back was out of alignment for a few weeks. I probably shouldn't run for a while =( or do any thing to comprosmise my lumbar recovery. Now that I feel like I am on the mend a bit I hope to get back to the gym more for ST soon and weather cooperating begin some walking until I can run again. I don't like to take meds and pray this thing is going away. I have more empathy for those with back issues now, but I will say the chiropractor is a great and for us $30 a visit can't be beat. Yoga tonight which should also be a good thing.
