If you've been following my blogs you know that I'm working with a running coach following a training plan designed to enable me to run faster. The goal is to beat my 5K time for the Mayfaire 5K on the evening of May 11th. It's almost always hot and the course is designed to be as hilly as can be in this relatively flat central Florida area. My previous time for this race was 29:55 (my PR for a 5K -- a really flat one -- is 28:28). I ran my fastest mile ever this last week. Just maybe I can achieve this goal!
So I have some running goals. But far more important to me is my maintenance goal. I have maintained an 80 pound weight loss (212 - 132 pounds) for over 4 years now. Good, but I want to maintain a weight of 126, an 86 pound weight loss. I have hit 126 a few times, but usually fluctuate up from there pretty quickly. Today I weighed 126.6. I'm not 100% certain that 126 really is a maintainable weight for me, but I think the only way to find out is to try. With that in mind, I changed my ticker today on my SparkPage. I was a little reluctant to do it. I loved that ticker showing 210 weeks of maintaining that 80 pound loss, a constant positive! But I would love it even more if I could consistently show me maintaining my goal weight of 126. So today it shows me .6 over goal. Not bad. Not bad. And maybe I can make it say exactly what I want -- and without affecting my athletic performance! Time will tell.
