Well, hopefully everyone is recovering from a good Easter weekend. Luckily mine was pretty quiet except for cooking brunch on Sunday. I should not be allowed to cook brunches. I love all the greasy and bad for you food. Sausage, bacon, omelets, hash brown casseroles. Then the insane carbs of waffles and pancakes. Add in the sugar from the syrup and my body didnít know what was going on. For all of about 30 minutes on Sunday, I reveled in all the food. Chowed down and stuffed myself.
Then sat back to watch a movie and let it digest. Surprisingly my system did not revolt at the grease. I almost wish it did. I spent the day doing pretty much nothing. Feeling weighted down and tired. To the point I went to bed early and while I should have done some exercise, not sure I would have had it in me. And it was rest day. But since I had dropped a few pounds leading up to it, I didnít feel too guilty about it all.
So, now the food is gone. It is time to climb back on and get my healthy back. The workout this evening will hopefully erase the last remnants of the food from my system. Looking forward to 65 minutes on the recumbent at the gym followed by some time in the sauna. It will feel good and hopefully I perk back up by then. I am dragging this morning though.
Now comes my next challenge. My spring gets busier this week. Over the next 2 month my son will play in about 20 tennis matches for his high school. And I am the kind of dad who tries to make everyone. Which means I will be getting up and working out before work more often. I also have a dance recital with my youngest daughter in 2 weeks. Her dance program has itís yearly recital coming up. As the finale at the recital they have a performance with the fathers. So we have been taking lessons and they continue next week and then the dress rehearsal a week from Wednesday and 2 performances the weekend of 4/12/13. I have been doing this for the past 5 years though. This is our 6th performance together and it is a blast. So, now I really get the challenge of trying to fit a workout in around all of this.
But the best part of today is, it is Opening Day in Cincinnati. The Redís take the field at 4:00 this afternoon. This is an unofficial holiday in Cincinnati with a parade at noon followed by the game. This brings itsí own challenges. I love watching baseball. Either on TV or, while I rarely go, nothing beats seeing it in person. I listen to the games on the radio in the car, but nothing beats watching it with a few cold beers. But beer is off the menu till I get things back under control. So, I will be watching the games without for awhile. Ah well, it will teach me discipline and moderation and allows for the occasional treat of a cold beer while the game is on.
So, while I try to plan my schedule for the next couple weeks, I hope everyone had a good holiday and I will allow the baseball to fill the background on the Iheart radio app while I workout tonight.
