Thought and Prayer for Monday, April 1, 2013

Monday, April 01, 2013

We all have people in our lives who we call our friends. We have some who have habits or behaviors we don’t approve of. We have some who we can tell our closest secrets to. We have some who have betrayed our trust. We need to be careful about how we choose our closest friends and know that a true friend is loyal, helpful and kind. However, we first need to be sure we are true friends to others. Being a friend is the first step to being a godly example to others.

Proverbs 17:17 “A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us today to be a loyal friend to the people in our lives. Help us to know their needs and offer assistance. We know You instruct us to be loyal and helpful. Help us to be a friend to all and expect nothing in return. Help us not to be selfish and look at only what is happening to us. Help us to look for the needs of others and take action to help them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Being a friend to someone is more important than them being a friend to us.

God wants us to be a friend to those in need. There is always someone around us who is in need.

A loyal friend is great to have. Let’s be one today.

The needs of others should come before our own needs. Let’s strive to help someone today.

Romans 15:2 “We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.” (NLT)
