Sometimes I look back on decisions I've made and wondered WTF I was thinking. For example, my hip was bothering me this week. So what did I do on Friday? This workout:
75 kettlebell swings (rx=35#)
Yeah, because you don't use your hips in running or KB swings....I took it pretty easy on the runs and used 26# for the KB (normally would've gone Rx on this one). I haven't had any hip pain since it initially started, but they definitely felt tight/weird on Saturday.
Another bad decision? Knowing I had to TTB this weekend, and doing a WOD with 90 pull-ups on a bar I'm not used to. I got some bad blisters on Thursday night between those pull-ups and practicing TTB. I practiced TTB again on Friday and ripped my hands. I did end up getting a couple TTB, but today when I did 13.4 with rips? Yeah, I got zero. I initially was just going to do 3 C&Js and then quit, but I ended up "trying" to get a TTB for 6+ minutes. Only I was afraid of ripping my hands more, so I wasn't even trying that hard, I just basically made my tears a little worse for no actual reason.
I've really enjoyed participating in the Open, but frankly, I'm glad it's (almost) over. It will be nice to go back to regularly scheduled programming.
