Hopefully the tax forms will be sent out tomorrow. Pray for me!

Sunday, March 31, 2013

This should not be such a struggle. At least I did it little by little this year with specific tasks in mind on the days I worked on this.

tomorrow, I just need to find how much I spend on insurances. Then I can mail everything.

This is my first year filing as a retired person.

During the period I was preparing all this I was also doing lots of stuff for my husband. His needs have changed and that meant dealing with a ton of different professionals.

Chris

Good luck Chris! It should NOT be so difficult for us. It is overly complex and the instructions are NOT clear. What a relief for you when it is filed!

When it's done and sent in, be sure to celebrate that it's complete and pat yourself on the back. Then try to plan ahead for next year: what can you do now to make it easier for next year? For instance, if you have basic knowledge of spreadsheets you can create one to keep track of all your medical expenses and mileages. Find a place where you can gather all tax receipts and forms to keep them separate and easy to find. Whatever you do over the next few months will make it easier and less time-consuming to do your taxes next year.
