Focusing on what's important

Last week I was a bit bummed because it appeared that my weight loss for March was two pounds, yet I did not take into account that the month was not over. Since that time I have lost two more pounds with an average of a pound a week for the month. That sounds so much better when looking at monthly losses. I am also moving more this week and that is the reason for the sudden loss. My focus is on getting out a couple of times a day and walking. Unfortunately I cannot or will not be a runner again because I am being very careful with my feet. So, walking is my go to exercise. A walk through the Arizona desert, surrounded by cactus, rabbits, quail and lizards, is a wonderful diversion. I found a great app for my iPhone that tracks my distance and time because I was not sure how far I was walking. My calculations were low and I have been walking for further and longer than I gave myself credit for. That is always good to learn. I feel more focused and good about what I am doing and hopeful I can walk the Camino in Spain sometime in August. I will know by July if my feet will withstand the mileage. It is so important to dream what your hardwork will do for you in the future. My dream is a healthier body and the ability to push myself in a way I have never before. I just have to keep that focus.
