Kick the Chocolate Bunny

Sunday, March 31, 2013

So far so good I am kicking that chocolate bunny day tradition of gorging out on candy I should never even buy. I think a good resolution for next year is to not buy any for anyone's baskets and therefor won't even be tempted by the sugary confections. I did learn a couple of interesting facts though about one sugar confection... the Peep is over 60 years old and one of them is only 28 calories... oh and they used to have wings.

I resisted the Peeps this year and they are my favorite.. The Easter bunny has always brought books or movies to my kids so even though they are teenagers, the tradition continued. I have always been careful about what they eat because I don't want them to struggle with weight like me.

    Thanks DonDain

CHOCOHIPPO - Way to go! That is fantastic that you resisted the temptation and even passed along the gift and spread some joy to someone else while still keeping your will power in tact. emoticon

Great job. I never knew that about Peeps! My boss gave me an Easter bag filled with candy (I celebrate Passover, but appreciated the thought) which I'm trying to avoid like the plague, because chocolate is one of my kryptonites. But instead of eating more than a couple of pieces of it, I added some dark chocolate to it and re-gifted the bag to my dog walker who was thrilled by it. So I got to pass along the good wishes and thoughtfulness of my boss to someone who really appreciated the gesture. And I only ate two of the candy minis in the bag. Win, win, all around!
