Easter is not a celebration of candy, but a celebration that Christ is alive!

Sunday, March 31, 2013

When I asked the kids at school what they think about when they think of Easter, they all said different things like candy and the Easter bunny. I explained to them that Easter to me is the single most important event in history! Jesus died on the cross for all of man kind and on the third day he rose again! If it wasn't for that great event in history, then none of us would be here today enjoying Easter with our families! I know God made the ultimate sacrifice for you and me! It is hard for me to comprehend at times how much love he has for all of us! We think that sacrifice is about making compromises when it comes to our family and our friends, but we have never had to make the ultimate sacrifice! I feel so blessed each day to know God is with me no matter what I do! I know Jesus was resurrected for us and that gives me so much peace in my heart to know that eternity is waiting for me! Is eternity waiting for you? Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe in the resurrection? Today is the day that could change your life! emoticon emoticon

It's disappointing to here that some schools won't even allow for the word Easter to be used by faculty. So often the secular takes over, but we can't forget that we are celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord. We should celebrate daily in God's blessing.
