Starting out

This won't be easy after years and years of being sedentary in front of a TV and a computer screen of my own doing. I have no idea where to start or what to do. The first few steps are the most difficult. This picture was taken a number of years ago when I weighed about 162.
I now weigh about 192. I'd like to lose 35 lbs by July 2013. First steps anyone ?

    Definitely baby steps -- short-term, attainable goals! And most importantly, never EVER give up!

    Baby steps of course.. If you feel very overwhelmed, start changing ONE thing.. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Park further from the door and walk, use stairs, get a pedometer,, aim for 10,000 steps a day.
This site is not a diet site, it is a lifestyle change. If you focus on getting healthier, you will find yourself making changes that cause weight loss. That is the magic of this ..

If you have not joined any teams, you could start by joining a state team,, I live in Michigan, belong to the Michigan team,, if you love books, there is a book team, a Stephen King team, animal lovers, Jewish, Catholic, Christian,etc teams.. just type in a keyword and teams will come up on your screen.
Doctors, attorneys, scientists, Trekkies etc, ,, it is a vast site, just play with the keywords and then ask somebody on that team anything.

I have Sparkfriends in Malaysia, Canada, all over U.S., Europe,etc..
