Jelly beans, Peeps and chocolate bunnies, oh my!

Sunday, March 31, 2013

Today is a holiday marked with feasts of ham, eggs, and assorted candies in baskets. Most people who celebrate will be together with family and friends eating too much and enjoying the "egg fillers" a little too much. We may end up with a weeks worth of calories when we're done.

That isn't a reason to hate ourselves though. It's one day and as long as we're enjoying the company, the treats that go with it shouldn't bring us down. You may be one of the lucky ones to be able to resist the abundant amount of treats, but most of us will still be having the extra salty ham.

Fortunately this is one day and it will be over soon. We might be up a pound from the indulgence, but we also know we'll be right back on track tomorrow. So enjoy your day and enjoy your company and don't beat yourself up for enjoying a holiday.

Oh, if it were only one day! I sent the treats home with the grandkids, but on Monday DH brought home the "clearance sale" Easter candy. He just can't resist a bargain. I hope I can.

Hope you enjoyed your day. As you say, it is only one day and, as with everything, a little in moderation will not do harm.
Rather than an egg, my DH had warmed pain au Chocolat waiting for me when I came down. Much more appreciated.

Even though I saw both older kids it was to help them with things. Younger dd and I went shopping for leggings she needed for track and food for home. We had chicken for dinner; baked not fried. Hope you had a wonderful day with your family. emoticon

I am afraid the indulgence is not about the weight gain anymore for me. I am fighting diabetes, high cholesterol, and low potassium. So no indulgence for me. Luckily my friends will be having grilled salmon for our dinner today, and she is making a tossed salad just for me. There will be a lot of rich sides, and of course deviled eggs, but you
know what? It doesn't even sound good to me. The word "healthy" sounds so much better.
